Hi everyone,

now that there seems to be a new forum, let's introduce myself to this community. While I had read about Funkwhale before I actually came here last year after some people in the MusicBrainz IRC channel discussed Funkwhale. After having installed a FW instance and having read through some of the discussions in this community I instantly loved this project. It is a great tool, well implemented, with a great philosophy behind it and a welcoming community.

At the moment I'm mostly a user, listening to my own music collection on my self-hosted instance. But I also contributed some smaller patches last year for the 1.1 release, and I'd love to do more should my time permit it.

As I wrote above I come from the MusicBrainz community, where I currently am the main contributor to MusicBrainz Picard, which some of you probably use. And that's actually where I focus my time for open source development. But there is probably a lot of synergy between those projects 🙂

Just wanted to let you know posting your introduction qualifies you to become a member of the Funkwhale Collective, which baiscally means you are allowed to participate in all decisions made by the collective. If you are interested, just let me know!

    gcrk thanks for the offer. But currently I struggle with my other voluntary obligations already. I fear I would make promises I cannot hold.

    For me I rather keep on using and testing FW and occasionally provide some patches when time permits 🙂

        phw There is no obligation included, its just granting you reporter access to our repos and allows you to take part in our votings. But its also truly optional! 🙂
