Cannot play in-place imported music from WebUI.

I am not able to play any music from the web interface on Firefox or Google Chrome. I get the error "The track cannot be loaded. The next track will play automatically in a few seconds... You may have a connectivity issue."

The same track can be played successfully by a user on a Subsonic client (in this case, Clementine).

Firefox inspect gives errors like:

Media resource ... could not be decoded
Media resource ... coudl not be decoded, error: Error Code: NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_METADATA_ERR

I have media transcoding enabled and sufficient horsepower behind the container to transcode audio.

Any ideas?

Does the audio file play in the browser? (As in opening the file with the browser and getting the browser's default audio player to play it.

What formats are you using?

It doesn't seem to. Firefox complains about "No video with supported format and MIME type found"

I'm using ALAC inside an .m4a container.

zombielinux Then unfortunately this is a browser limitation as I understand it. I have had issues with m4a files having a videa stream within them even though they are just audio files and that's enough to break playback within browsers/Funkwhale.

Well that's unfortunate. That coupled with my ldap/substreamer api issue. makes this really difficult to use then.
